Excitement is building for our Club Fundraiser: Battle on the Bay Lip Sync Competition. 34 performers and 10 organisers have been working tirelessly for the past 2 months and more to put this night together and it's shaping uo to be a fantastic occasion on the 25th of November in the Salthill Hotel. Tickets available from James in the office in the Árus.

Thanks to Keith Duggan and PJ Kelly who ran a session for coaches last week on agility and movement skills. It's easy to see why PJ has won few all ireland minor titles and why he is in such high demand .

U12-U16s have all concluded their year with coaches and players earning a well deserved break as they  will all start back in mid January huge thanks to all coaches parents and players from all these age groups for dedication and efforts over the year.

The u13 footballers played St. James's in the Shield Final last Sunday in Claregalway. The lads started well going into a 1-1 to no score lead. St. James's then got into the game, scoring a number of frees to go ahead at half time by 3 points. The second half was very competitive with St. James's capitalising on most of their opportunities. Our lads battled on though and despite being down by five points with 8 mins to go, eventually began to dominate play. They fought back to within 2 points but ran out of time losing out in the end on a score of 2-8 to 2-6. The lads had a good season, being involved in the business end of all competitions they were involved in. Each and every player contributed over the course of the year and improved in skills and teamwork. They have a lot to look forward to when they come back in Jan to focus on Féile 2018.

Ladies Football
u14 – The U14 Selectors came together to take a table in the County LGFA Table Quiz. This was held in Claregalway on Fri 3/11/17. Many Thanks to Mike Tarpey, Joe Greaney Gerry Kelly. Despite a good start that saw 'The Seagulls' near the top of the pack, we ran out of answers towards midway  and came up to finish strong around mid table. This was a good evening and helps the Galway LGFA pay the bills.

u12 – U12 Girls lost out to a well organised Monivea team in the long awaited semi-final replay. Very tight game until the last 10 minutes when Monivea got a fortunate goal and then pushed on. It was simply their day. Coachs have only good things to say about our girls and how they conducted themselves throughout an extremely long drawn out saga. There's still a Div 1 shield final to be won so hopefully we will regroup and go again. Thanks to the U12 parents + supporters for their patience + ongoing support in what has become a very long season. It's appreciated.

Don't forget the Árus is the number 1 venue for children's birthday parties. Contact James in the office on 09152733 to book yours today.
