St Malachy's GAC 8th Annual May Steele Ladies Sevens

St Malachy’s ‘May Steele’ Invitation Seven-A-Side senior ladies football competition will be held in Castlewellan Co. Down on Sunday 4th May 2008 commencing at 10.00am.

This is the 8th consecutive year of our competition and once again teams will be divided into groups of four played on a round robin basis, thus guaranteeing all competing teams a minimum of 3 games. All prizes are unique and of Irish manufacture – winners receiving the “May Steele” Memorial Cup with each team member receiving a ‘Cuchullann’ Statuette. Runners-up will receive specially commissioned crystal trophies, and in addition there will be a special ‘Player of the Tournament’ award and an individual O’Neill’s Sports voucher.

The Sevens are of course more than a highly competitive one-day competition. It is always a great social occasion and we can guarantee you a warm welcome to Castlewellan and to our Clubrooms, where we will provide meals for all participating players and mentors and we will also host a grand celebrations evening entertainment. Many Clubs opt to stay over in some of the Town’s fine guesthouses and family run hotels. A list of places to stay can be found on our Club website
