Castlewellan GAC hosted welcome home celebrations in Castlewellan on Saturday night in traditional fashion for All-Ireland Champions. And worthy champions this young St Malachy’s High School team undoubtedly were confounding their critics with a brilliant all round performance in the All-Ireland Final of the U18 Vocational Schools competition at O’Moore Park Portlaoise on Saturday April 5th when they completely outplayed and outclassed their opponents St Brogan’s College Bandon Cork.
From start to finish they kept a clear lead trotting home to victory 1.12 to 0.05. Congratulations St Malachy’s and manager Pj Magee ably assisted by Paul Duffin, Eamon Devlin and Peter Hynes.
