St Mary's Advance in Leinster Colleges Championship

St Mary’s Edenderry advanced to the next round of the Leinster ‘A’ colleges with a five point win over Marist Athlone. Marist made the brighter start with an early goal but two points from Edenderry’s Sean Doyle left just one point between the sides. Athlone battled hard and hit back with two points of their own but it was Edenderry who controlled the remaining fifteen minutes outscoring Athlone 1-2 to no score.

Edenderry started the second half well scoring early but it was Athlone who dominated for long periods closing the gap to just one point. The next score was crucial and fortunately for the Offaly school they got it. A flurry of points soon followed and St Mary’s ran out comfortable winners. 
On the team from Edenderry were Cormac Hurley, Sean Moriarty & Sean Doyle while Aaron O’Connell, Andrew Forde, Peter O’Neill, Mikie Clear, Ross Mangan are also on the panel.
The draw for the next round takes place on Monday.
