St Marys Secondary School

November 8, 2018

St Mary’s U14’s have captured the Leinster title just two weeks after they claimed the North Leinster crown.
St Mary beat St David’s Artane in Newbridge today on a scoreline of 2-10 to 2-03.

Edenderry laid the foundations for this victory in the first half when they dominated proceedings, as they lead at the break 1-7 to 1-3, with the goal coming from Edenderry’s Mikey Clear, while other Edenderry players on the scoresheet were Adam Mahon and Oran Lawton.

The second half was a scrappy affair as St David’s tried to bully the St Mary’s boys when they realised the result was running away from them. But the Mary’s lads kept their composure and outscored St David’s by 1-3 to a goal in the second half. The goal was scored by Rhode’s Ruairi McNamee, while Edenderry man Mikey Clear also got in on the act with a great point.

Congratulations to the team and management, especially to all the Edenderry Club members involved in this great victory.

The 11 Edenderry players were:

Ross Mangan (Capt), Damian Sadowski, Mikey Clear (1-1), Adam Mahon (0-1), Oran Lawton (0-2), Alex Kenny, Ciaran Farrell, David Moloney, Cain Brereton, David Hughes and Jordan Hayes.
