St. Patrick's Junior Hurlers

Pictured above : St.Patrick’s Junior hurling team which played Clonmel og last weekend . Included with the team are the team management of Michael Nash, Eugene McCormack, Siobhan Vaughan and the team’s fitness instructor Eadaoin Lochman.

Our junior hurlers played their second game of the championship last Saturday night when they took on John Leahy trained Clonmel Óg in Fethard. Three goals from full forward Aaron Cronin set St. Pat’s up for a good win which secures their place in the semi-final. The game was tight through out and at the final whistle St. Pat’s were 3 point ahead on a scoreline of 3-09 to 1-12. Only for some wayward shooting St. Pat’s would have been more ahead. St. Patrick’s had to field without Paul Horan and Danny Gleeson who were both away abroad and also without Damien Barry who is serving suspension. Next game will be against Ballingarry where a win would put us top of our group which would give us top seed for the semi-final.

We wish the team continued success in their quest for championship honours. They have been training hard for the past few months under the guidance of their mentors Michael Nash and Eugene McCormack. They have also been making use of the new gym in Killenaule on a regular basis and under the guidance of fitness instructor Eadaoin Lochman, they have been put through a rigorous training regime. The team travelled to Lahinch Co. Clare for the June bank holiday weekend for an intensive training session where they trained on the beach followed by a dip in the atlantic ocean to cool down. By all accounts the weekend went very well and lets hope it will stand to them in future games. We wish the team and mentors the best of luck in the championship where they have a great chance of collecting the honours.

They are also still in the running in the junior football championship but need to win remaining league games if they are to reach semi-finals.
