St. Patrick’s Ladies GAA Club Notes w/c 06th August 2018

November 7, 2018

Under 8 and 10’s
Our under 8 and 10 teams will take part in the upcoming Munster Blitz on Saturday 18th of August at 11am in Cappawhite.

Under 11’s
Well done to our under 11 girls team who put in an incredible team performance in Cloneen last Saturday evening against a strong Ardfinnan team, who won all their previous games well. It was only in the final stages of the game that Ardfinnan managed to get a few more scores to win out the game. This game finishes our involvement in the under 11 summer league competition. We've had 5 competitive games which have been a great learning experience for this group. There's still lots more football planned for this group so keep coming along to training each week.
A big thanks to all parents and families for bringing the girls to matches over the last 5 weeks, particularly during the busy holiday period. A huge thanks to all the players who were a pleasure to coach and all the coaches are very proud of each one of them. No doubt it will be onwards and upwards for these girls.
Finally, massive credit and thanks to the under 11 mentors: Siobhán Vaughan, Margaret Hogan, Audrey Moroney and Edward O Brien for giving of their time and expertise during the under 11 summer league campaign.

Under 12’s
Our under 12 team have been entered into the upcoming under 12 Munster blitz on Saturday 25th of August in Tipp Town at 2.30pm.

Under 14’s
Well done to our under 14 girls who played Aherlow last Monday evening, winning on a scoreline of St. Patrick’s 2.8 Aherlow 2.7. The team will now play Silvermines in the under 14 Division 3 county summer league semi final this Wednesday evening at 7.15pm in Anner Park Cloneen. Good luck girls!

Under 17’s
Well done to our under 17 girls who played Clonmel Og/Ballyporeen in their 3rd round summer league match on Friday evening in Clonmel, winning on a scoreline of 5.11 to 4.7.
Team on the evening: Gemma Gahan, Katie McCormack, Erin O Brien, Ciara Fitzgerald (c), Aine Ryan, Eabha Hogan, Eimear Boland, Ciara Butler, Sadhbh Morrissey, Jess Strappe and Siobhán O'Hanlon.
County under 17 semi final match scheduled for August 14th, venue and opposition not known as yet.

Junior Ladies
Our junior Ladies team played Latten in a challenge game last Wednesday evening in Dr. Morris Park Thurles, on what turned out to be a very wet evening. It was a super run out for both teams, with St. Patrick’s Ladies enjoying most of the spoils in the first half and led well by 6.2 to 2.4. However, Latten really came into their own in the second half, particularly in the last 10 minutes and won by the slightest of margins. St. Patrick’s: 9.5 Latten: 9.6. St. Patrick’s Ladies team management will have been happy with the runout and holding Latten a team in a grade higher to a point but know there is some work be done, in advance of their Junior B semi final match in a few weeks time.
Many thanks to the Latten Ladies for the great game of competitive football and best wishes in the next round of the Junior A championship. Huge thanks to the stewards in Dr Morris Park for the use of their field and facilities.
Team on the evening: Sadhbh Morrissey, Erin O Brien, Sarah Walton, Eadaoin Wilson, Abaigeal Maher, Maria McGrath (c), Ciara Fitzgerald, Sarah Mockler, Aileen Kelly, Kate Walsh, Clodagh Vaughan, Una O'Brien, Siobhán Vaughan, Niamh Keane, Emily Ruttle, Aileen Sugrue and Roisin Horan.
