Under 8’s
Well done to our under 8 girls who took part in the Munster LGFA blitz in Cappawhite on Saturday the 18th of August and had a most enjoyable day out. They played 4 matches against Galtee Rovers, Templemore, Rockwell Rovers and Cappawhite. They continue to score freely and concede very little. They are all around a very strong team that continues to improve with every game they play. Huge thanks to mentors: Maeve Browne, Anita Hennebry and Jerry Kelly who coached the girls on the day.

Under 12’s
Well done to our under 12 girls who took part in the Munster blitz on Saturday past in Tipperary town. This was a 9 aside blitz hosted by Arravale Rovers and was a great run out for our girls. We played 3 mini games against Rockwell Rovers, Arravale Rovers 2 and Murroe/Boher (Limerick) in our final game. Our girls played superbly in each game, defending bravely and creating and taking some great scores at the other end. We had 14 girls present and rotated the girls in and out to ensure each girl got plenty game time. Panel on the day: Erin Moroney, Anna O’Dwyer, Sarah Boland, Ailish Ryan, Lucy O’Brien, Emily Fox, Ailise Fitzgerald, Faye Noonan, Maria Kerwick, Ella Corbett, Sarah Grace, Sarah Byrne, Ami O’Brien and Lucy Power .
An enjoyable afternoon was had by all. Many thanks to parents for making the long journey, especially to those who had travelled to Moyne earlier for under 14 game and to Arravale Rovers for facilitating the blitz.

Under 14’s
Our under 14 girls travelled to Moyne Templetuohy Lgfa last Saturday morning to play Holycross in the Division Three League Cup final. St Patricks did not get off to a good start and were slow to settle, this allowed the Holycross girls to build up a 12 point lead by half time. The second half was a different story as the St Patrick’s girls started to play some good football and really tested Holycross. St. Patrick’s outscored Holycross in second half but were unable to get the goals needed to cut the lead. Final score: St. Patrick’s 1.12 Holycross 4.11. This was a really good summer league campaign and both the girls & mentors can be proud of their efforts and look forward to forthcoming under 14 championship.
Team on the day: Anna O’Dwyer, Sophie O’Brien, Gemma Gahan, Clodagh Horan, Claire O’Brien, Laura Murphy, Katie Power, Olga Maher, Maryann Fitzgerald, Niamh Boland, Keelin Ryan, Izzy Maher, Sarah Boland, Clodagh Foley, Karol Ryan, Ailish Ryan, Faye Noonan, Mia O’Dwyer, Aoife O’Brien, Sarah Byrne, Erin Moroney and Orlaith McGrath.

Under 17’s
Hard luck to our under 17 girls who narrowly missed out by a bare point in the county under 17 Division Three league final vs Holycross on Saturday the 18th of August in Monroe. It was a game of two halves and turned out to be a very exciting match, in the final minutes of the game. St. Patrick’s had a slow start in the first half, missing numerous scoring opportunities and looking fatigued all over the field. Holycross materialized on this and went in at half with a convincing 12 point lead. St. Patrick’s 0.2 Holycross 3.5. The St. Patrick’s girls however were not ready to throw in the towel and gave a tremendous display throughout the second half, with 2 goals by Eabha Fitzgerald kickstarting the comeback within the first 5 minutes after the restart. The St Patrick’s girls upped their work rate, defended furiously and played their hearts out to get right back into the game. In the closing minutes, Robyn Horan converted a penalty to bring us within a point but the final whistle then went that few minutes too early, to get the equalizing or winning score. Full credit to all 17 girls who played and who never gave up & who showed great character to claw their way back into the game – we are all incredibly proud of your efforts and spirit!! Final score: St. Patrick’s 4.5 Holycross 4.6.

Junior Ladies Team
Well done to our junior Ladies team who convincingly beat Moyle Rovers 2 in the Junior B county semi final in Fethard last Saturday evening. From the throw in St. Patrick’s put their stamp on the game and went into an early lead and maintained the lead throughout the 60 minutes. There were great individual displays all over the field but collectively the team worked well, in both defensive and attacking play.
This now leaves us in the Junior B County Final vs Moyne Templetuohy, details of which are not known as yet. The St. Patrick’s Ladies will relish this opportunity & look forward to avenging their league semi final defeat against Moyne Templetuohy earlier this year! Special mention to our papal ambassadors who unfortunately could not not be with us at the game but kicked every ball in Dublin: Maria McGrath, Emily Ruttle, Abaigeal Maher, Kate, Clodagh Vaughan and Angela McGuigan.

Pride of place to three of our under 14 girls: Izzy Maher, Clodagh Foley and Mary Ann Fitzgerald who won a bronze medal at the All Ireland community under 14 girls football competition with the Fethard / Killusty team, on Sunday the 19th of August. It was a fantastic experience for the girls and their teammates and such an achievement to be representing Tipperary and Munster. Well done girls!

Also well done to our under 14 player Olga Maher who was part of the county under 13 team that took part in the Eugene Egan tournament in Naomh Mearnog in Dublin, on Sunday 19th of August.
