St. Patrick's had 15 girls line out and played two matches against Ardfinnan and Fethard. They played absolutely brilliant and is fantastic to see how much all the girls skills have improved. Our thanks to Moyle Rovers Ladies GAA Club for hosting the blitz. Many thanks to all the parents and family members who travelled with the girls to Passage West & to the under 8 and 10 coaches Aileen Sugrue, Molly O Brien, Gerry Kelly, Margaret Hogan, Edward O'Brien and Audrey Moroney who have put in so much work coaching the girls all year! Huge thanks also is extended to the teachers and pupils in Cloneen and Drangan National Schools for all their creative and colourful banner and poster making – they were fabulous and stood out in the parade. Finally, well done to all the under 8 and 10 girls #ourfuturestars who played their hearts out and made their voices heard at the blitz!! We would like to acknowledge and thank everyone in Passage West for running such a wonderful blitz, everything was so well organised, including the weather!

Under 14's

Our under 14 girls have had a busy few weeks, with three games in the under 14 B championship. On Monday 28th of August, they played Boherhalan away. The first half was a close contest, with fantastic defending by both teams, making scores very hard to come by. Half time score: St. Patrick's 2.2 Boherhalan 1.1. The St. Patrick's girls looked more energised in the second half, with early goals from Jessica Strappe and Ava Heffernan, plus some vital saves by Dearbhla Morrissey in goals. However, Boherhalan upped the tempo scoring two goals mid way in the second half and were right back in the game. The St. Patrick's girls then went on to play some really good football, with great interlink play for the final quarter and pulled away to win on a scoreline St. Patrick's 5.9 Boherhalan 3.1.

On Thursday 31st of August, we played Sliabh na mBan this evening in Anner Park Cloneen. Both teams traded score for score throughout the first half, with the half time score ending on equal terms St. Patrick's 0.9 Sliabh na mBan 1.6. The second half didn't disappoint in terms of excitement with some great passages of play from both teams, excellent score taking and great defensive work. Sliabh na mBan hit their purple patch midway throughout the second half, scoring 2.1 in quick succession and only for a well saved penalty by St. Patrick's goalkeeper Dearbhla Morrissey, the St. Patrick's girls would have had a big deficit to come back from. However, the Patrick's girls would have the last say and upped their workrate considerably for the last 10 minutes, with the turning point being a well taken goal by Keelin Ryan, to bring it back to a three point deficit for St. Patrick's. St. Patrick's went on to close out the game with three unanswered points from play, two from Jessica Strappe and one from Eabha Hogan and with time almost up, Eabha Hogan slotted over a free from 30 yards, for the St. Patrick's girls to win on a scoreline St. Patrick's 1.14 Sliabh na mBan 3.7. This was a tremendous team effort by the St. Patrick's girls who held their nerve and worked incredibly hard all over the field for the 60 minutes. Under 14 team: Dearbhla Morrissey, Laura Murphy, Katie McCormack, Gemma Gahan, Issy Maher, Aoibheann McGrath, Robyn Horan, Erin O' Brien (c), Rachel Butler, Keelin Ryan, Eabha Hogan, Ava Heffernan, Siobhan O'Hanlon, Jess Strappe, Niamh Boland, Clodagh Foley, Sadhbh Morrissey, Mia O'Dwyer, Mary Ann Fitzgerald, Katie Power and Isabelle Hayden.

The third round championship match, saw our fortunes change and where we got beaten by Clonmel Commercials on Thursday 7th of September in Clonmel. St Patrick's started the livelier and had several goal chance opportunities in the opening minutes, which weren't converted and unfortunately came back to haunt us, as Commercials in the second half converted their chances. The first half was a tight affair, with only one point in it at half time: St. Patrick's 0.6 Clonmel Commercials 1.4. Again, St. Patrick's started the second half strongly with a point from Siobhan O'Hanlon and then then got a really well taken goal by Ava Heffernan, who unfortunately got injured by courageously going through on goal. This was a big turning point in the game for us, with Clonmel Commercials upping the tempo, in which St. Patrick's found hard to get to grips with and where we conceded three goals in a five minute period half way through the second half. To be fair St. Patrick's kept going, with Katie Power getting two good points from play & frees by Siobhan O'Hanlon and Eabha Hogan. St. Patrick's then got a penalty near the end, which hit the crossbar with Robyn Horan converting for a point. On an evening where things didn't go our way and with a number of girls injured, the final score ended up: St. Patrick's 1.13 Clonmel Commercials 4.13.
Team: Dearbhla Morrissey, Laura Murphy, Gemma Gahan, Isabelle Hayden, Issy Maher, Aoibheann McGrath, Robyn Horan, Erin O Brien (c), Rachel Butler, Eabha Hogan, Katie McCormack, Ava Heffernan, Siobhan O'Hanlon, Jess Strappe, Sadhbh Morrissey, Niamh Boland, Clodagh Foley, Keelin Ryan Mia O'Dwyer, Mary Ann Fitzgerald and Katie Power.
The 4th and final round championship match is an home game to Ardfinnan – due to be played the weekend 30th of September.

Under 19 Team
Our under 19 team played their first round championship match against Mullinahone away on Saturday the 02nd of September. The first half some great passages of play from both teams, so much so there was only a point in the difference at half time St. Patrick's 1.9 Mullinahone 2.7. However, Mullinahone went on to pull away in the second half and went onto win out the game on a scoreline St. Patrick's 1.11 Mullinahone 3.14. Team: Sadhbh Morrissey, Olivia Noonan, Sarah Walton, Eadhaoin Wilson, Aoife Dennehy, Maria McGrath, Ciara Fitzgerald, Abbie Maher, Niamh Martin, Eimear Boland, Caoimhe Ryan, Caoimhe McMenamin, Aine Ryan, Orlaith O'Hanlon, Emily Rutrell, Ciara Butler, Aoife Horan and Dearbhla Morrissey.
