The Endeavour Award for Kilmaine

November 8, 2018

Kilmaine Village Enhancement is happy to announce that they received an Endeavour Award in the Tidy Towns competition. It was a wonderful achievement and great credit is due to the hardworking, dedicated committee members who work consistently each week to improve and enhance the village. Thanks to everyone who assisted in any way, The Mayo County Council staff at the Ballinrobe office, the local R.S.S scheme and their supervisor, the staff and pupils at the National School, the locals who enhanced their own premises by painting, cleaning and putting out flower boxes and keeping the area tidy. The vast improvements have been noted and the 13.6% increase in marks was 2nd highest in the country. Moneygall in Co. Offaly were 1st with a 21.6% increase but they did have a V.I.P visitor earlier this year! Currently we are joint 2nd in the Litter League and are appealing for everyone to assist for the next week or so in ensuring that the areas inside the speed limits on all approach roads are litter free and well kept.
