It was the visitors ability to turn chances into goals that ultimately caught Crosshaven. The home side spurned a dozen first half chances while Mallow converted three from three. Max Harvey provided the first half's brightest spot for Crosser when he roofed a twenty yard shot to make it 1-3 at the break.
For want of a better word the Crosshaven lads received a bollocking at half time & responded accordingly. Zach Murphy from close range made it 2-3 ten minutes into the second half before another defensive lapse saw Mallow restore their two goal advantage. Crosshaven teams though are synonymous with playing with their hearts especially when their backs are to the wall, today was a classic example. The team never gave up. Diego Campos fired home with ten minutes remaining to make it 3-4 before Adam Welch scored direct from a long range free to tie the game up. Both sides in the end happy with a point. Final score 4-4.
