U-21 F.C.

November 8, 2018

On a lovely spring day in Cobh last Sunday our U-21 football team lost the opening round of the championship to the home side. When we look back at this game ‘twill be easy to realise that we simply kicked the game away. In the first half with the aid of a stiffish wind we kicked thirteen wides – literally a wide every two minutes. We totally dominated the first half, particularly the first quarter. Cobh in total had four attacks which yielded 2 points and one wide. Our defence and midfield were well in command but up front we scored just 3 points from plentiful possession. In the second half the home team realised they were still in the game. They had an early goal to take the lead. A Colm O’Keeffe goal and a Stephen Walsh point saw us level 1-5 each with 9 minutes left. Cobh finished the stronger scoring 1-2 to our point and so we lost by 2-7 to 1-6.
