A month ago in terrible weather conditions at Castlemartyr our under 21 hurlers played a draw against Cloyne in the first round of the championship. We played with a gale in the first half and had a good half time lead. On the turnover Cloyne were quickly in the attack and reduced our lead quickly. We were clinging to a 2 point lead in the last few minutes but Cloyne hit over two frees to draw the game. The replay on Sunday night will be a big game for our lads. Obviously Cloyne’s Paudie O’Sullivan is the big threat and we will have to defend very well. We are well capable of winning this game but only if all the team play to its full potential and convert what chances we get. Please note this game was fixed for Saturday night August 19th but now goes ahead the following night Sunday August 20th at 7pm in Castlemartyr.
