The referee threw in the ball to start the game. Ailise Fitzgerald won the throw-in but then she was quickly crowded and dispossessed by Ballyporeen players. Ballyporeen went on a quick attack and went for goal but Marissa Meagher pulled off a good save, Ballyporeen got the rebound and scored a goal. Ballyporeen quickly reacted with another goal to put them two goals ahead. Cloneen started pushing on with dangerous attacks from Ailise Fitzgerald and Verona Madigan which led to a free, from a difficult angle the free went just left off the post and wide. A long ball from Ballyporeen led to another attack, their shot was blocked by Ella Corbett with some good defending. Then Cloneen went on the attack and Matilda Molloy's shot was pushed out for a 45. Meah Cuddihy took the 45 and lobbed the goalkeeper, ball into the back of the net. Cloneen were winning all of Ballyporeen kick outs now which led to some good attacks. Emaleigh Cuddihy won the ball in the half backline and kicked the ball up to Ailise Fitzgerald and she passed it off to Verona Madigan who didn't have to think twice to bury it in the back of the net. Ballyporeen attacked dangerously but Cloneen defended brilliantly. Ballyporeen are now being held out fantastically by the Cloneen defence, another free for Cloneen which is converted by Verona Madigan. Ballyporeen went on the counter attack and scored a long waited for point. Verona Madigan again on the attack and takes a shot but saved by the goalkeeper but Verona didn't give up and scored a goal off the rebound. Ella Corbett won the oppositions kickout and gave it off to Meah Cuddihy who scored a goal from 25 yards out. Cloneen win another free which which was taken sublimely by Meah Cuddihy and put Cloneen another point up. Two consecutive goals by Meah and Verona put Cloneen up 6-2 to 2-1 at halftime.
Cloneen continued in the same vain in the second half with a point from Siobhán Hogan from a difficult angle and another from Meah Cuddihy early in the half. Cloneen's backline were dominating all over the place, full forward line of Verona Madigan and Siobhán Hogan playing very well and were soon rewarded with a penalty which was saved superbly by the Ballyporeen goalkeeper. Raighnait Morrissey was confident in goal despite having little to do in the second half. More goals were scored to ensure Cloneens victory with a final score of Cloneen NS 9.4 Ballyporeen NS to 2.1
