U12 B Hurling Championship

November 8, 2018

On Saturday morning Edenderry travelled to Mucklagh to play Shamrocks in the U12 B Hurling Championship.

Aaron Holt opened the scoring from a free in the opening minutes and Shamrocks equalised soon after.

Edenderry then took complete control of the game until half time. Conor Farrell scored the first goal of the game when he followed up on a long ball which was not dealt with by the Shamrocks defence. He finished very well to the net from close range. Jordan Hayes added an excellent point from play after good work from David Maloney and Peter McNamara. Conor Farrell bagged his second goal when he connected with a ball played across the goals by Mikey Kane. A pointed free from Aaron Holt and another point from play by Jordan Hayes ended the first half scoring.

Half Time Edenderry 2-04 Shamrocks 0-01

In the second half Shamrocks pressed hard to get back in the game and while the Edenderry defence held up for the opening 15 minutes, they eventually conceded three goals in succession to allow Shamrocks draw level. Edenderry then regained control of the game and pushed hard to get another score. With time running out a number of opportunities went narrowly wide from Aaron Holt, Jordan Hayes and Callum Roche.

This was an excellent performance by Edenderry and with a little luck the game may have been won.
