U13 win first league game of season

November 7, 2018

Conditions on the day were perfect and with a word from the ref on the new rule changes the game began with both teams finding their feet on a full size pitch and all coaches praying for a good result.
Young Munster quickly found the Bohs try line with great work from the pack and a great finish from Josh O’Rahilly. Bohs struck back soon after this with a fine try by their No.10 but shortly after the restart Young Munster crossed the Bohs line again with Josh again taking a fine individual try and Michael Clancy making it 7-14 to Young Munster.
Just before half time Michael took a great interception and ran straight under the Bohs post and took the conversion again himself. Half time score was 7-21 to Young Munster.

The second half saw both sides settle down to some great rugby with the Young Munster pack putting a lot of pressure on the Bohs pack however Bohs took advantage of some open space to score the next try.
14-21 with ten minutes to go, Bohs played a lot of rugby deep in the Munsters half but credit to all the Cookies, they held fast and soon brought the ball down to the Bohs 22. Having just missed a fourth try, Munsters took a penalty, three points added on and we were now ahead 14-24.
Both sides gave it their all for the closing minutes and joy galore for Young Munster as the ref blew the final whistle. Credit to all the panel that day and thanks to Tommy Dillion for some great words of encouragement at the end. Finally a big well done came from Ross Mc Coy and thanks to all who helped out on the day. – YM U13 Coaches
