Report:
It was all a little last minute as we tried to arrange this game but on the day, Ballivor were able to travel to Carnaross with a good number of the U13 panel. Ballivor had the better part of the exchanges in the first half but it was an evening of end to end football with Ballivor getting the all important scores to lead by 7 points at the break. The second half saw Carnaross open with renewed purpose and soon they had rached up 6 unanswered points to narrow the margin to just 1 point. That seemed to wake up the Ballivor team a little and they finally got the ball clear of the Carnaross half-forwards and banged in a couple of goals to restore the lead. But Carnaross were not going to lay down – they soon replied with a couple of goals of their own and we were back to a single point. Ballivor then took hold of the game and the midfield parnership of Damien & Eoin began to pay dividends. In then end the margin was 11 points but that margin did not reflect how close this second half was for long periods. Credit to Carnaross for their spirit and credit to both teams for the positive football that was played with very few interruptions for fouls. Gladly, Ballivor have their second win under their belt and look forward to a play-off with nobber for the last Semi-Final place.
