U14 footballers suffer heavy defeat

November 8, 2018

Edenderry U14 suffered a very heavydefeat on Wednesday night at home to St Vincent’s in what could only be described as torrential rainfall.

However, the rain had little to do with the scoreline as St Vincent’s completely dominated the game from start to finish and never had to withstand any pressure from the young reds.

Cian Farrell in the eight minute from a free and Jack Foran in the twenty second minute where the only scores Edenderry registered in the first half and the interval whistle, they trailed by 1-9 to 0-2.

Half Time:

Edenderry 0-2 1-9 St Vincent’s.

The second half went from bad to worse and after just eleven minutes Vincent’s had stretched their lead to 3-13 to 0-2. Cian Farrell scored 1-1 in three minutes to reduce the deficit to sixteen but Vincent’s asserted more pressure as the game wore on and scored another 2-3 to run easy winners by a whopping twenty five points.

Full time:
Edenderry 1-4 5-17 St Vincent’s.

On the night Edenderry were best served by Andrew Moloney and Jack Foran.
