U14 Hurlers Lose to St Joseph's

November 8, 2018

Edenderry……1-01
St Joseph’s…..4-08

The Edenderry under 14 hurlers travelled to Laois to take on St Josephs in a preparation for this year’s Feile. On the day Edenderry were missing quite a few of their stronger players, and this had a big effect as St Joseph’s had size advantage in most areas of the pitch. But despite this disadvantage, the young Edenderry lads didn’t shirk from the challenge and had some fine performances from Lee Hyland, Mikey McNeilis, Aaron Holt, Matthew Beatty, Patrick Rickard and Mikey Kane. Edenderry’s two scores in the game came from midfielder Lee Hyland who scored a goal and a point. The goal was a stunning ground strike, while the point came from a well taken free. A big thanks to Enda Plunkett for stepping in to referee the game, as the appointed referee failed to show.

Team: Aaron Holt, Matthew Beatty, Keith Usher, Patrick Rickard, Ross Mangan, Evan Walsh, Mikey McNeilis, Lee Hyland (1-1), Stephen Connolly, Jordan Hayes, Kevin Beatty, Mikey Kane.
