November 8, 2018

Edenderry U16’s made a bright start to 2012 with a one point win over Graiguecullen of Laois on Saturday evening in Edenderry. It took twelve minutes for the opening score and it came for the visitors who quickly added a second two minutes later.

Edenderry finally opened their account in the twenty second minute through Peter McNamara and just on the stroke of half time Stevie Osborne point to level the sides at half time.

Half time:
Edenderry 0-2 0-2 Craigcullen

The second half was a much brighter affair and after just one minute Adam Mahon pointed the reds in front. Three minutes later he added his second and the Edenderry appeared to be gaining control. However in the fifth minute Edenderry conceded a very soft goal to allow Graiguecullen to take a one point lead. In the tenth minute they extended that lead to two points. The impressive Adam Mahon reduced the gap to the minimum on fifteen but again Craigcullen responded in the seventeenth minute.

The game looked beyond the reds but a late flurry of points from Adam Mahon, Stevie Osborne and David Moloney secured the two points for Edenderry.
