U16 Interprovincial Blitz

Congratulations to the Connacht U16 Squad, who travelled to Alexandra College, Dublin last weekend, to compete in the U16 Interprovincial Blitz.
The original tournament, scheduled for Dec 6th & 7th ’08, was cancelled due to adverse weather.
This led to the running of the one-day Blitz Tournament, finally giving our players the opportunity to represent their province.
The six Greenfields players on the squad did their club & province proud:
Niamh Callanan, Niamh Codyre, Dora Gorman, Sheena Lennon, Alison Ryan & Ciara Treacy.
 
Connacht beat both Munster & South East, and drew against Leinster & Ulster.
They finished in 2nd place, just two points below the winners, Ulster.
The Irish U16 Head Coach & her management team attended the tournament, identifying up and coming talent for the Irish U16 Squad.
Five players from Connacht have been selected for Irish U16 Trials – good luck to all of you from Greenfields!
