Ireland were punished just sixty seconds into the start of the second half for a lapse in concentration, giving the Welsh space to play around the Irish defence and finish off with a shot from the top left of the circle to give them their only goal of the match. The Irish continued to dominate and control the pace and were rewarded for their efforts in the 44th minute when play maker Naomi Carroll finished off the Irish goal tally in style when a well worked corner was slipped left for the direct shot from Carroll.
