Clonmore under 11’s took on Eire Og in the under 11 final in the county development grounds in Fenagh at 7pm on Friday evening.
Clonmore started quickly with 2 points from Robert Bulmer to settle them into the game.Eire Og began to get possession and stunned Clonmore with 2 goals from Anthony Keating followed up with points from Shane Murphy and Ben Crotty. Clonmore replied with a goal from Billy Lawlor. Luke Ramsbottom got a score for the Carlow town team before Eoin Connolly cut the deficit to a goal again with a well taken point. Ramsbottom scored again to leave the Eire Og boys up by 4 at half time.
Eire Og started the second half as the finished the first with a well taken point by Arnas Libratus. At this stage Clonmore introduced Oisin Doyle who got on the score sheet immediately with a well taken point. Arnas Libratus scored again for Eire Og before Billy Lawlor brought Clonmore back into the game with a well taken goal. With Clonmore on the front foot Oisin Doyle stepped up to convert a close range chance to goal and Dylan Doyle pointed again for Clonmore.
Eire Og steadied the ship and Luke Ramsbottom score 2 very good points. It was at this stage that Cathal Foley and Eoin Connolly took a hold of breaks at the middle of the field for Clonmore and Anthony Kealy and Sean Mulvaney took a hold of the Eire Og forwards. The teams exchanged goals in the closing stages with Billy Lawlor scoring for Clonmore before Dylan Doyle and Anthony Keating exchanged points to leave the final score Clonmore 4 – 8 to Eire Ogs 3 – 9.
Eire Og were well served by Anthony Keating, Ramsbottom and Libratus while Clonmore had a great over all team effort with Connolly,Bulmer, Lawlor and Foley coming in for a special mention.
