On Saturday last in Kinnegad The Downs secured the county under 14 title with their best performance of the year. The Downs defended with great determination to prevent early Clan Gael scores and made best use of their own possession to go into an early lead. The Downs continued to dominate the scoring and held a 7 point lead at halftime. The Downs ensured victory in the 15 minutes after the restart by holding Clan Gael scoreless and adding to their own score. Well done to the girls and to Kevin and Peter who put in a great years work and finished with the ultimate reward. Thanks must also go to large support from The Downs who gave the team every encouragement and to the parents who supported the team throughout the year and provided transport to all the games.
