U 14 Hurling
Naomh Olaf 3-7 Erins Isle 1-5

Olafs put in a spirited away performance against a gutsy Isles outfit, leading by 4 points at half time and held out bravely to deny the Finglas lads in a tense finish. David Byrne (2-1), Eoin Murphy (1-2) John McCarthy (0-2) and Conor Leavy (0-2) were the scorers for Olafs but it was in defence that the real  heroics were performed. Goalkeeper Harry O Brien kept a clean sheet till the very last minute with some terrific saves and the full backline of Craig Furlong, Gavin Beere and Ross Bannon were magnificent. Stephen Mulvany put in a Man of the Match performance at centre back ably assisted by a superb display from Kevin Power Kelly and Ronan Lewins who can count himself unfortunate not to have scored a couple of points on his numerous forays into attack. Cormac Bracken and the injured Adam Blunden harrassed the Isles defence continuously and certainly played their part in a famous victory which should ensure Division 2 status for Olafs for the upcoming U15 campaign. Maestro Eoin Ryan was absent for this one- reputed to be in Cork sorting out their hurlers – but the lads showed their absent boss they can do it even without his dynamic presence!!!!!!!!!
