St. Patrick’s Under 14 Hurling South Finalists 2013.

St.Patrick’s played Fethard in the south Under 14 hurling ‘C’ final at O’Sullivan park Ballingarry on thursday evening last. Having showed great promise all year hopes were high for this team. Unfortunately the game didn’t go as planned for the St.Pat’s boys as Fethard took control of the game from early on scoring 1-1 within the first few minutes. Even though St. Pat’s got back level with a goal from Jamie Broderick and a point from Pauric O’Brien this was as near as our lads were to get. Fethard who were very strong down the middle started to clock up scores with Dean Kenny and Jesse McCormack causing havoc for the St.Pat’s defence. Fethard ran out very comfortable winners on a score-line of 4-12 to 3-2.
Having reached  the south final in both  hurling and football this year it was a bitter pill for our lads to swallow to have been beaten in the south final in both codes. Hopefully the lads will learn from this experience  and come back a stronger team next year.
