Well done to the St. Patrick's Under 14 Football team who defeated Carrick Davins to capture the South Under 14 "C"football title on monday evening last week. After the disappointment of losing this final last year our lads were determined not to let the same happen again this year.  Carrick started the game the stronger team and had our defence under severe pressure for the first ten minutes but our backs stood firm and didn't allow any scores. Eventually the boys started to get the upper hand on Carrick and when Conor Duggan score our first goal from a 45 free there was no turning back. Two more goals from Conor and Mickie O'Brien in the first half put us in a very strong position at half time leading 3-3 to 0-2. In the second half  the St. Pats boys continued to dominate the game playing some excellent football. Further points from Conor Duggan,Eoin Ryan and Frank meagher stretched the St.Pats lead and the game ended st. Patrick's 3-8 to Carrick Davins 0-3.  This was a good team performance with every player from 1 to 15 playing their part. Needless to say there was great excitement among players and supporters when Eoin Ryan collected the Cup on behalf of his teammates. They now go forward to represent the south in the county championship.

P.S.    I can now report that they have defeated Knockavilla Kickhams in the county semi-final on a scoreline of 3-9 to 0-1.

So it's all roads to Boherlahan next saturday where they play Thurles Gaels in the county final at 12.30pm. We wish the lads the very best of luck and hope they can bring a County Title back to Drangan and Cloneen.
