Urhan’s Under-14’s missed out narrowly in the Beara League Final after a thrilling game and a fine performance in Cahermore. Urhan 6-11 CTB 6-13.
In an epic game that thrilled spectators from all over Beara, there was never more than two points in it. Scores were traded regularly in a first half that ended all square after some stirring football from both sides.
The second half proved just as skilful and just as close, and the pendulum had swung Urhan’s way by the end of normal time as they led by a point. However, three injury-time points swung the game ‘Town’s way and Urhan were to miss out on this title. There was no disguising, though, the progress these Urhan players have made of late, and they can be rightly proud of their performance as they look forward to the Championship.
