Under 16 'B' Championship semi-final: Clonmore 4-17 St Patricks 3-10

November 8, 2018

This was a great advertisement for underage football in Carlow as two talented teams produced an exhibition of fast, skillful, attacking football in perfect conditions in Fenagh. Surprisingly, it took Clonmore 14 minutes to open the scoring through centre forward, Eoin Byrne, who went on to kick an 0-8 from play. In a superb all round team performance, Eoin was ably assisted by Dan Cashin who scored a hat-trick of goals, Jordan Tallon who kicked an impressive 1-3 from wing back, Sean Deay who was rampant at midfield and the solid defending of Rory McKiernan and Cormac Connolly. Having led 2-10 to 0-5 at half-time, Clonmore had to withstand a strong second half comeback from a gallant Tullow team but held out for a deserved victory.

The Final is against Tinryland this Thursday, 15 Sept, at 6.30pm in NCP. Entry to NCP is at the Stand side only for all Juvenile finals.

Team: Melvyn Kinch, Sean Tomkins, Rory Maguire, Oisin Mulvany, Jordan Tallon (1-3,2f,1pen), Cormac Connolly, Rory McKiernan (0-1), Sean Deay (0-3), Matt Cullen, Jake Hickey, Eoin Byrne (0-8), Luke Connolly, Dylan Doyle, Daniel Cashin (3-0), Keith Bowes (0-1).
