Under 16 Football Co. Championship

November 7, 2018

On Saturday last 6th October Anner Gaels played Burgess in the under 16 County Semi Final in Holycross.                                                                          Burgess opened the scoring but two pointed frees from Anner Gaels centre back Cathal O Mahoney had them ahead. This was followed by 1-2 from play by Ryan Walsh as the Gaels raced into an early lead. Further points by Micheál Quinlan and Ciaran Moroney followed before Robbie Hackett scored 1-2 to put Anner Gaels out of sight. A further point by full forward Matthew McCormack left the half time score Anner Gaels 2-10 Burgess 0-1.                   The second half started with another Cathal O Mahoney pointed free. Goals from Ryan Cranitch, Matthew McCormack and Micheál Quinlan as well as a Ryan Walsh point meant the game was truly over. Burgess replied with a couple of late points but the full-time score was Anner Gaels 5-14 Burgess 0-4.

The team was: Tyler McCormack, Shane Neville, Keith Morrissey, Aidan Fitzgerald, Jack O’Donoghue, Cathal O’Mahoney, Tommy O’Brien, Darragh Hurley, Ryan Walsh, Micheál Quinlan, Ciarán Moroney, Robert Hackett, Cathal Foley, Matt McCormack, Ryan Crannitch, Cian Crannitch, Luke Fox, Keenan Ahern, Conor Neville, Toby Collier.
