Our U21 footballers played their second game of the championship last Sunday in Clonmel Sportsfield where Clonmel Commercials were the opponents. After their earlier loss to Moyle Rovers a win was vital here in order to stay in the competition. We started a lot better this weekend and were only a point behind at half time with the score 0-6 to 0-5. A goal from Brian Healy midway through the second half gave us the lead but unfortunately we couldn't hold on for the win we needed and ended up losing by the narrowest of margins on a scoreline of 1-8 to 12 points. This was a game which we should have won and our lads will rue the amount of wides and missed chances we had throughout the game. The lads can be proud of their efforts while playing against the top teams in the county and their experience of playing at this level will stand to them in the future. The team on the day was: Charlie Manton, Ciaran Mockler, Paul Moloney, Conor Gorey, Darren Boland, Jody Sheehan, Joey Noonan, David Hayes, Mark Mullally, Aidan Buckley, Willie Morgan, Jack Purcell, Conor Cuddihy, Eoghan Hurley, Brian Healy, Jack Dolan, Barry O'Dwyer, Niall Keane, Michael Boland, Alex O' Donovan, Jamie Broderick, Liam Quigley, Jesse McCormack.
