Underage Hurling Blitz

November 8, 2018

Edenderry GAA is pleased to announce that a Hurling Blitz will take place in the GAA grounds on Sunday Oct 25th commencing at 11am. The blitz will involve 120 children from six clubs in both U8 & U10. Games will be 25 minutes long with all the teams playing six games (including a final) throughout the day. The teams involved are as follows:

U-8 Blitz
Edenderry
Naas (Kildare)
Kinnitty (Offaly)
Kilmacud Crokes (Dublin)
Naomh Eanna (Wexford)
Oranmore-Maree (Galway)

U-10 Blitz
Edenderry
Naas (Kildare)
Clarenbridge (Galway)
Kilmacud Crokes (Dublin)
Toomevara (Tipperary)
Oranmore-Maree (Galway)

The day will be an opportunity for the Edenderry players to showcase their talent and skills against some of the top club teams in Ireland. It will also highlight the tremendous work that has been put in with this group of players by Martin Keogh, Dean Dempsey, Declan Cummins, and Declan McCraith this year and also the work of others in the past few years including Liam McGrath, Eamonn O’Connell and James O’Grady.

The club have arranged to install a marquee in the carpark for the day to cater for the crowds expected as the hall will be used as a dressing room for the teams. Refreshments will be served throughout the day and a shop will also be open.

As this is a major undertaking for the club we need as much help as possible from club members to ensure that this is a day to be remembered by the young hurlers from each club but especially the Edenderry players. Any person willing to help out even for an hour can come along on the day and ask any committee member how they can help.
