On Saturday, the Division 4 team suffered their first defeat at the
hands of Abbeylara in Fay Park. We went in two points behind at the
break and that was the difference at full time. This means that we must
beat the Gaels in the last game to have a chance of reaching the final.
We are now joint second with Abbey who play Clonguish in their last
game. Last round of games is fixed for May 14th.
Line out..
F Heslin, A Reilly, D Murtagh, P Kennedy, E McGahern, O McGivney, B Brady, D S Reilly, K Farrell, P Murtagh, A McKeon, N
Hurson, B McCabe, N Brady, T Doyle.
Subs: M Kavanagh for E McGahern, K Reilly for A Reilly, P Brady for N Hurson.
Division 6
We suffered our second defeat at the hands of Carrickedmond in the park
on Sunday with a score line of 2-10 to 2-13. No line out to hand as
yet, but Niall Hurson finished the game with a fine tally of 2-7.
Bertie Allen Cup
This was our fourth time to play Abbey in a week and we finished in
style with a comfortable win 2-15 to 0-5. Goals from Paul Murtagh
(first half) and Donie McKeon (second half) helped seal the win with
both players putting in a fine hours performance. We have Dromard left
to play in the last game where a win would see us in the final where we
remain unbeaten. That game is fixed for Sat next in Dromard.
