County SH Challenge cup:  The 2016 competitive season kicked off on a positive note with a hard earned victory over Templederry in the SH Challenge cup.

Divisional draws: The draws for the Junior Leagues and championships, Minor and Under 21 hurling were made last week and can be viewed on the club website

Sympathies: We extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of the late Ann Meagher on her recent passing. Ann's daughters Sinead and Eimear are two fantastic handball players with Nenagh Handball Club. Sympathy also to the Seymour family on the passing of Patrick Seymour.  Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a h-anam dílis. 

Healthy club initiative: The Healthy Club Project team are hosting a health and wellbeing night in the Abbey Court Hotel on Wednesday March 23rd at 7.30pm.   The talk, which is entitled "Minding the Body, Minding the Mind”, will be given by Dr. Fergus Heffernan PhD, who is a renowned psychologist and psychotherapist and a leading educator in the area of stress management and how it relates to our mental health. Fergus has worked with the Irish Defence Forces, the United Nations and NATO. He is a visiting lecturer and Workshop Director in Trinity College Dublin, Columbia University New York and Boston University USA.

Membership: A final  reminder to everyone and especially all players and mentors that membership for 2016 is now overdue and must be paid to Membership secretary Derek Lillis, any club officer or online before the end of February. The cost of membership is again very reasonably priced at €25 with a family membership option A priced at €60 and an option B priced at €85.

Juvenile News

Under-6 & 8: Training has resumed on Saturday mornings at 10am. New members always welcome.

Under-10: Training resumed on Saturday and well done to all for the great turn-out.

Under-12: Our under-12 footballers got off to a winning start against Newport on Sunday. Training continues on Wednesday evening and full attendance required. Our next games are away to Inane Rovers on Saturday.

Under-14: Féile Peil will be held during March so full attendance required now at training. There will be a meeting on Monday at 6.30pm with the new management team and all players are asked to attend.

Under-16: Our match against Lorrha Rovers was postponed due to weather. We travel to Roscrea to play Inane Rovers this weekend. Please check the club website for up to date fixtures.

Scór na bPáistí: Best wishes to our Scór na bPáistí North winners who will compete in the county finals in Cashel on Sunday. Good luck from all in the club

Handball News

Our deepest sympathies go to the family and friends of the late Ann Meagher on her recent passing. Ann was a passionate supporter of GAA and especially Nenagh Handball where her wonderful legacy to the club are her three children Eoin, Sinéad and Eimear. Our thoughts are with them, her husband Christy, extended family and friends at this sad time. Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a h-anam dílis. 

Camogie News

Registration: could all players please pay their registration as soon as possible to any committee member or to a member of their management team. 

Congratulations: Congratulations to Cahir on their fantastic win in the All Ireland intermediate camogie final on Sunday last in Croke Park. They have been fantastic ambassadors for our county and we wish them well in the senior grade in 2016.
