SENIOR
Senior: Nenagh Éire Óg have been drawn against Drom & Inch in the semi-finals of the Clean Ireland Recycling County Senior Hurling Championship – the semi-finals are scheduled to take place on Sunday, October 11th. In their respective semi-final Thurles Sarsfields will take on Kilruane MacDonagh’s. Both semi-finals will take place in Semple Stadium, Thurles, but the throw-in times are not yet confirmed. Please keep a close eye on the club website and respective social media channels for updates. The lads are working hard in their efforts to represent the town to the very best of their ability and would appreciate your support on Sunday.
Under-21A: The under-21A hurling team will face Roscrea in the opening round of this year’s championship. The fixtures schedule for that competition have not been released as of yet. This year the under-21A hurling team will be managed by Greg Browne (manager), Con Morris and Michael McNamara. The 2015 Walsh’s of Nenagh North Tipperary Under-21A Hurling Championship will be run on a knock-out-loser’s-group system. Éire Óg have been drawn against Roscrea in the opening round. Kilruane MacDonagh’s will face Ballina in a preliminary round game while the remaining first round games will see Kildangan face the winner of the Kilruane versus Ballina game and Toomevara take on Newport Gaels.

JUVENILE
Under-6: thanks to Roscrea for hosting our youngest hurlers on Saturday. A great time was had by all. Training continues this week at the normal times.
Under-8: Our under-8 hurlers travelled to Cloughjordan on Saturday and competed very well against a very good Kilruane side. Thanks to Kilruane for hosting us. Training continues on Wednesday at 5.15pm.
Under-10: There will be no football training this week. Normal training on Wednesday and the boys will travel to Kilcotton on Saturday for a tournament.
Under-14: Our under-14 hurlers lost out to Kilruane in the first round of the Ballina Tournament on a scoreline of 4-10 to 3-9 on Monday of last week and we will have played Burgess in Nenagh on Monday of this week in the second round. Our third round game v Silvermines is due to be played this weekend. Thanks to Ballina GAA for their kind invitation to participate in their tournament. Hard luck to Cian, Sean, Conor, Liam and Rory who were part of the under-16 panel who lost out to Moycarkey-Borris in the county final last Saturday.
Under-16: Hard luck to our under-16 hurlers who lost out on Saturday to Moycarkey-Borris in the under-16 A county final in Annacarty. The lads left it all on the field, but lost out by four points on a scoreline of 1-19 to 2-12. All in the club are very proud of these young men who have represented their club, families and parish so proudly. Thank you to the parents for their constant support all year. Many thanks to the management team of David Minogue, Eamon O’Brien, Noel Coffey and Christy McLoughlin for their huge effort this year seeing this team compete in the north football final, win the north Hurling final and reach the county A final. Football: North football training begins this week for boys born in 2002/2001/2000. Would all lads interested please contact their team manager.
Winter training for juveniles will be starting up soon. October 13th sees the start of winter running from 7.30pm to 8.30pm for all boys born 2006-1999. Strength and conditioning times will be advertised soon here.
NENAGH HANDBALL CLUB
There will be a meeting on Thursday, October 8th at 8pm in the Éire Óg complex for all involved in the handball club. If you have an interest in becoming involved in the club then please come along on the night.
CAMOGIE
Under-14: We travelled down to Annacarty on Sunday morning last to face the home side in the semi-final of the Winter League and unfortunately we were defeated. We wish Éire Óg Annacarty the very best of luck in the final. That game signalled the conclusion of the Camogie year for the under-14s and the club wish to complement the entire panel for all their hard work in 2015. They were a pleasure to deal with and we can’t wait to see them all again in 2016.
Minor: Our minor game against Clonoulty on Sunday last was postponed due to a bereavement in Clonoulty and will now take place at a later date.
Junior A: We face Holycross next weekend in a play-off to see who qualifies for the championship semi-finals. This is a must-win game and the girls have been putting in a massive effort all year and your support is appreciated. The game is fixed for Nenagh at 12 noon on Saturday.
Strength and Conditioning: We are delighted to announce that in conjunction with the juvenile club we will be hosting a strength and conditioning course for all our players from under-8 up to minor throughout the winter months. This will be supervised by a qualified instructor who specialises in this area. It will commence on Tuesday 13th October in the running complex in Ballygraigue from 19:30 – 20:30 and in the hurling field on Thursday evenings. We encourage all our players in these age brackets to please make a special effort to attend.
Flag Weekend: There was a change in the date of our Flag Weekend to the 17th and 18th of October. We ask all our members and supporters to please volunteer an hour of your time for this vital fundraiser. If you are willing to do so please contact Denise Morris ASAP.
