SENIOR

Well Done: Congratulations to Tommy Heffernan and Dáire Quinn who featured on the University of Limerick team which beat the Waterford Institute of Technology in the replayed Fitzgibbon Cup final on Wednesday, March 11th in Páirc Uí Rinn, Cork. Tommy Heffernan and Dáire Quinn scored the vital goals for UL in a 2-18 to 1-14 win.

Challenge Cup: Nenagh Éire Óg will face Boherlahan-Dualla in the second round of the County Senior Hurling Challenge Cup on Tuesday, March 17th at 11.30am (extra-time will be played in the event of a draw). Please support the Blues. Win or lose on Tuesday the team is scheduled to play in the third round of the Challenge Cup at 12 noon on Sunday, March 22nd. Please keep an eye on the club website and respective social media channels for updates.

Junior A: Éire Óg are scheduled to take on Borris-Ileigh in the opening round of the Watch Centre North Tipperary Junior A Hurling League in MacDonagh Park, Nenagh on Saturday, March 21st at 5pm. The team are managed by Greg Browne, Con Morris, Michael Ryan and Conor Ryan this year. We wish the lads all the very best during the campaign and appeal for your support. The competition will be played on a two-group system with the top two teams in each progressing to the semi-finals. Nenagh Éire Óg have been drawn in group two alongside Borris-Ileigh, Roscrea, Knockshegowna & Toomevara. Group one features Burgess, Silvermines, Templederry Kenyons, Kilruane MacDonagh’s & Kildangan.

Junior B: The first round of the junior B hurling league is scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 28th when the Blues will host Portroe at MacDonagh Park, Nenagh. The team are managed this year by Cian Tucker, Mark Long and John Paul King. We wish the lads all the very best during the campaign and appeal for your support. The competition will be played on a two-group system with the top two teams in each progressing to the semi-finals. Nenagh Éire Óg have been drawn in group one alongside Toomevara, Newport, Shannon Rovers, Moneygall & Portroe. Meanwhile group two features Borrisokane, Ballina, Borris-Ileigh, Silvermines, Lorrha-Dorrha & Kildangan.

Minor A: The Blues’ will launch their North Tipperary Minor A Football Championship campaign on Wednesday, April 1st when Nenagh Éire Óg will host Ballina in MacDonagh Park, Nenagh at 6.30pm. The team are managed by John Manley, Paudie Gleeson, Derek Lillis and Christy McLoughlin. We wish the lads all the very best during the campaign and appeal for your support.

Congratulations: A huge well done to Dean Ray who was among six others from the division who recently completed the referee’s course. Referees are vital component of the Gaelic Athletic Association and anyone who volunteers to take on this key role should be commended. Well done Dean.

A Night with Christy Kenneally: The Nenagh Éire Óg Healthy Club Project will host a ‘Night with Christy Kenneally’ in the Scout’s Hall on Wednesday, April 15th at 8pm. The theme of his talk is “from heartbreak to hope”. Admission is priced at €5 while under-18s will be admitted for free. JUVENILE

Under-6 & Under-8: There will be no Wednesday training until further notice. Saturday training continues as usual. Well done to all the boys who took part in matches against Kilmacud Crokes on Sunday. A great morning was had by all.

Under-10: Under-10 training continues at 10.15am on Saturdays. New members welcome.

Under-12: Under-12 training on Monday and Wednesday at 5pm. Please bring gumshields. Our football league begins on March 27th.

Under-14: The under-14 hurlers came through their first competitive fixture of the year on Sunday last when they defeated Kildangan in a Féile na nGael quarter-final on a scoreline of 3-7 to 0-5. The semi-finals and final will take place on April 18th. Training continues on Saturday from 11am to 12.15pm.

Under-16: Under-16 football training on Wednesday and Friday this week. Time TBC. Our under-16 team require a first aider for match days. Could any parent available to help out contact David Minogue? Training will be provided.

NENAGH HANDBALL CLUB

Well done to Sinéad Meagher on winning her All-Ireland under-16 singles semi-final match last weekend. The best of luck to her as she prepares for the final. Hard luck to Katie Morris who lost out in her match, but with a Munster medal in her possession now she has a bright future in the club.

Nenagh Handball club will host the Munster Development competition on Saturday morning with Cameron Spillane taking part in the under-14 doubles with Louis Kennedy. Good luck to all involved.

CAMOGIE

Clothes Collection: there will be a clothes collection in the clubhouse on Saturday, April 18th. All unwanted clothes will be gratefully received.

Sponsorship: we wish to thank Silver Stream Nenagh Manor Nursing Home for kindly sponsoring our under-8 team with a brand new set of jerseys. They were presented to us during the week by representatives M. Sucharzewska, Margaret Walsh and Karen Dooley. Your kindness is very much appreciated by everyone in the club.

Training: Training has resumed for all teams in the club and details are as follows – the under-8 panel are training on Thursdays 17:30 – 18:30. The under-10 and under-12 panels are training Monday and Thursday from 17:30 – 18:30. The under-14 panel are training Tuesday 17:30 – 18:45 and Thursday 17:45 – 19:00. Junior and minor training is Wednesday 8pm in the hurling alley and Saturday 11:30am in the hurling field. Management: Management of all teams in the club are asked to contact our PRO once they have confirmed details of a particular fixture and inform him if there are any changes to said fixture. This is so we can publicise the details on our website and various social media channels.

Tipperary: congratulations to Sarah Quigley, Rachel Maher, Maeve Coffey and the Tipperary under-18 team who defeated Limerick 4-11 to 0-9 in the Munster semi-final over the weekend. Best wishes to all in the final.
