ADULT

County Championship Draw: Nenagh Éire Óg have been drawn against Clonoulty-Rossmore, the Templederry Kenyons and Ballina in the group stages of the 2015 Clean Ireland Recycling County Senior Hurling Championship. The first round of the county championship is expected to take place on the week-ending April 5th.

Club Executive: At Monday night’s committee meeting Anne Kennedy was appointed acting secretary of the senior club and will work alongside Declan Bailey in the interim. We wish Anne all the very best in the role and thank her for such a terrific show of commitment to the club.

Club Social: A club social and medal presentation night will take place at the Abbey Court Hotel on Friday, February 6th – on the night the 1957 and 1964 north champions will be honoured while music will be provided by Ebony (followed by disco). Tickets are priced at €40 for a four-course dinner (€350 for a table of ten). This promises to be a great club occasion as we honour our victorious 2014 teams and look forward to the 2015 season. We would encourage people attending to get their tickets ASAP so as to help with planning on the night. All welcome.

Healthy Club Project: The Nenagh Éire Óg Healthy Club Project team, in partnership with SOS (Suicide or Survive), hosted a one-day Wellness Workshop which aimed to help people understand, take charge of and responsibility for their own mental health on Thursday, January 29th in the Business Innovation Centre on Stafford Street, Nenagh. The Wellness Workshop proved a great success for the Nenagh Éire Óg Healthy Club Project team. As a result of our successful seminars in 2014 on wellbeing and mental health the Nenagh Éire Óg Healthy Club Project team were nominated to hold a Wellness Workshop in partnership with SOS (Suicide or Survive). This workshop which was free of charge – the workshop was booked out and forty people attended from all parts of North Tipperary; people also travelled from Cork and Dublin. The feedback from people was very positive and everyone found the day excellent.

Membership: Membership for 2015 is now due and priced at €25 – family membership option A is priced at €60 while option B is priced at €85.

JUVENILE

Flag Day: Thank you to everybody who contributed to the success of our juvenile flag day, those who donated and the many volunteers who braved a very cold day to collect.

Éire Ógres: Éire Óg will be running a GAA camp for beginners for four Saturdays in February beginning on the 7th from 10am to 11am at the MacDonagh Park complex. This free 'Éire Ógres' programme is perfect for boys born 2008-2010 to help improve their hand-eye coordination and agility in a safe and fun environment. No equipment necessary. Tea and coffee will be provided for parents. The boys will be presented with a cert and a special Éire Ógres T-shirt on completion of the course – call or text Shane (087 637 3830) or Catherine (086 085 5165) for more information.

NENAGH HANDBALL CLUB

It will be a busy week for Nenagh Handball Club as it will host the first round of the juvenile Munster championship this week against Clare opposition. The girl’s competition will be on Thursday night and the boy’s on Friday night. Meaghan Morris will compete in the girl’s

under-12 singles and we wish her the best of luck. All eyes will be on the girls under-16 singles match between two of handball's rising stars – our own Sinéad Meagher and Ella Donnellan. The evening programmes begin at 6.30pm.

Well done to all of our members who competed in schools handball this weekend.

CAMOGIE

All our teams are due to being training over the next few weeks in preparation for the 2015 season. Management will be in touch with players, parents and guardians shortly with the details. There are still a number of players who have yet to register for this year and no player will be allowed to train or play with the club without registering. The costs are for all girls under the age of ten IS €50 while for others it is €60 for the first girl to register from a family and €50 for every other child from the same family. For non-players it is €20. We ask all our players to please register at your earliest convenience.
