ADULT

Senior: Liam Heffernan’s senior hurling team return to action in the last sixteen of the Clean Ireland Recycling County Senior Hurling Championship this weekend – on Sunday, October 12th Éire Óg will face Kilruane MacDonagh’s at 3.30pm in MacDonagh Park, Nenagh. The last sixteen clash between Kildangan and Lorrha-Dorrha will precede that game. Kilruane are an outstanding team and the lads would appreciate your support for this vital match. The last sixteen draw in full: Nenagh Éire Óg v Kilruane MacDonagh’s, Kildangan v Lorrha-Dorrha, Loughmore-Castleiney v Ballina, Drom & Inch v Thurles Sarsfields, Clonoulty-Rossmore v Éire Óg Annacarty, Borris-Ileigh v Burgess, Moycarkey-Borris v Templederry Kenyons, Killenaule v Mullinahone.

Junior A: Ger Tucker’s junior A hurlers booked their place in the county junior A hurling semi-finals thanks to a sixteen-point win (2-18 to 0-8) over Knockavilla Kickhams at The Ragg on Saturday afternoon – Philip Hickey and Richie Flannery fired home the goals in an impressive display from the Blues. Éire Óg have been drawn against St Patrick’s in the semi-finals while Kildangan will face Skeheenarinky. Éire Óg will face St Patrick’s on Saturday, October 11th in Holycross at 2pm.

Kildangan will take on Skeheenarinky in their respective semi-final at the same venue at 3.30pm.

On Saturday afternoon Kildangan required extra-time to beat west champions Clonoulty-Rossmore on a 1-20 to 0-19 scoreline. Meanwhile St Patrick’s beat Drom & Inch 3-11 to 0-15 in their respective quarter-final. The final match in the last eight took place on Sunday when Thurles Sarsfields lost to Skeheenarinky (1-18 to 3-10). The lads have made a huge effort to reach this stage of the championship and would appreciate your support.

 

Junior B: A Paddy Harrington goal in the 58th minute rescued the Blues at Dolla on Saturday evening. Éire Óg trailed a determined Toomevara side for the duration of a keenly-contested junior B quarter-final and just when it looked like the Greyhounds had done enough to force their way into the last four Harrington struck for a vital three-pointer. Newport beat Kildangan 1-16 to 2-10 in their respective quarter-final while group winners Lorrha and Portroe have already progressed to the semi-final stage. The replay against Toomevara will take place on Sunday, October 12th in Dolla @ 11.30am. The lads have made a huge effort to reach this stage of the championship and would appreciate your support.

JUVENILE

Under-6 & Under-8: Our under-6 and under-8 hurlers hosted their Toome counterparts in the sunshine on Saturday morning. Thank you to all the boys and their parents for an entertaining morning.

Under-10: Nenagh will host an under-10 blitz on Saturday morning from 10am – more information available from team management during the week.

This will end the season for the boys who have made huge improvements throughout the year. The team were presented with a new set of jerseys at the weekend by A Sportsman's Dream and we wish to thank them for their continued support of Nenagh Éire Óg juveniles.

Under-13: The under-13 plate final will take place this weekend. Nenagh Éire Óg will play Borris-Ileigh at a venue yet to be decided. Please check nenagheireog.com and the club Facebook page to keep up to date with all the latest match fixtures.

NENAGH HANDBALL CLUB

Best of luck to Eimear Maher (Nenagh) and Síle Spain (Lahorna) who will represent Tipperary in the girls under-15 doubles All-Ireland final this weekend.

Nenagh Handball Club will hold a general meeting at the Éire Óg complex on Thursday, October 9th at 8pm. All members are asked to attend. We would also welcome anyone with an interest in handball in Nenagh to come along and get involved.

CAMOGIE

Under-8: The under-8 team will be presented with their medals this Thursday in the club house. Management will be in touch with further details. We hope to have our end-of-year party on Thursday, October 16th.

Under-10: The under-10 team had a wonderful weekend at the Ballina Tournament where they took on Ballina, Cappawhite and Monaleen and emerged victorious in all their matches before captain Niamh Burke was presented with a lovely trophy. Thanks to our mentors Tom and James for all their hard work and Ballina who made us feel more than welcome.

Under-12: The under-12 team played Portroe on Monday. The result was not available at time of going to press.

Under-14: The under-14s had a great win over Éire Óg Annacarty in the league which sees us through to the semi-final. We have to play Newport in our final game of the group stages. Please see website for details of this clash.

Junior A: Our junior A team were beaten by Cahir in the semi-final of the championship on Sunday last. Thanks to all the panel of players and the management team of Paul Henry, Shane Connolly and Derek Lillis for all their hard work throughout the year.
