JUVENILE

Under-6 & Under-8: Training continues at the usual times. More details from your trainers. We hope you had a great summer and remember hurling training supported by Nenagh Éire Óg will continue in all of the Nenagh primary schools throughout the year.

Under-10: Our under-10 hurlers enjoyed a great day out in Limerick at the Murroe-Boher Jim Commons Memorial Tournament on Saturday. The boys beat Murroe-Boher of Limerick and Wolfe Tones of Clare before losing to Dicksboro of Kilkenny in the final. Many thanks to the hosts for taking such great care of the boys.

Under-12: The under-12 team played Ahane early on Saturday morning and gave one of their best displays of the season. It was great to see the improvements made by all since the season started. Our thanks to Ahane for making the early trip and we look forward to meeting them again soon. Training continues this week for an upcoming home tournament.

Under-14: Hard luck to our under-14 hurlers who lost out to Toomevara in the north final on Saturday last. In an excellent game of hurling the Blues fought back from an early five-point deficit to go in at the break a point ahead on a scoreline of 2-4 to 1-6 with the scores coming from Barry Coffey, Seán Shanahan and Seán Phelan. In a hard-fought second-half Toomevara out-scored Éire Óg by 0-5 to 0-2 with a number of wides costing the Blues dearly. It has been an excellent year for the lads and we wish Toomevara the best of luck in the county series. Many thanks to the under-14 management team of John Phelan, Conor O’Donovan, Phil Hennessy and David Minogue. For a full report and photographs from this thrilling game please click here.
