SENIOR

 

 

Senior: Éire Óg returned to action in the Clean Ireland Recycling County Senior Hurling Championship on Friday, August 1st when the Blues faced Roscrea in Moneygall. Éire Óg made it three wins from three games in the county senior hurling championship thanks to a 1-25 to 1-8 victory over Roscrea. For a full match report please see the club website. The draw for the last sixteen knock-out phase of the county senior hurling championship will be made in due course. The draw for the semi-finals of the Hibernian Inn North Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship was made on Sunday evening at Dolla – in the last four Nenagh Éire Óg will face Borris-Ileigh while Kilruane MacDonagh’s will take on Burgess in their corresponding semi-final. These games are likely to go ahead on the weekend of Sunday, August 24th.

 

 

 

 

Minor A: The minor hurlers were due to return to action in the Ger Gavin North Tipperary Minor A Hurling Championship on Thursday, August 7th against Kilruane MacDonagh’s in Toomevara at 7pm but this matchhas been postponed.

Fantasy Football: The Nenagh Éire Óg Fantasy Football League returns for the up-coming Premier League season – register on Fantasy.premierleague.com and use the following code to join the Nenagh Éire Óg league: 375628-99211. The Premier League kicks off on the weekend of August 16th – get your entry in! Toomevara man Damien O’Meara won last year’s competition while Paul Burke was second, Mark Flannery third, Denis Ryan fourth, pre-season favourite Noel Maloney was fifth, David Burke sixth, Eddie Darcy seventh, Dean Ryan eighth, Jimmy Henry ninth and Brian McDonnell tenth.

 

 

 

 

U15 Camogie Final

JUVENILE

 

 

 

 

Under-6 and Under-8: Training continues at 5pm on Wednesdays and 10am on Saturdays. New members always welcome.

 

 

 

 

Under-10: Training continues as usual. Matches being planned so full attendance required.

 

 

 

 

Under-12: More information about upcoming matches from management soon. Full attendance required at training.

 

 

 

 

Under-14: Our under-14 hurlers beat Roscrea 1-7 to 1-6 in their semi-final play-off in Borrisokane last Wednesday. On a wet and heavy night for hurling the boys showed great spirit to come from behind and to take the match by the slightest of margins. They face Kildangan in the semi-final and that will be held on Saturday, August 9th at 6pm in Puckane. Please come out to support the boys.

 

 

 

 

Under-16: The under-16 hurlers play their final group match (the deferred match) against Roscrea on Monday, August 11th in Roscrea at 7pm.

 

 

 

 

For Sale: The juvenile club have subsidised training t-shirts on sale at the moment available to every juvenile member and mentor. NENAGH HANDBALL CLUB

 

 

 

 

Well done to Eamonn Spillane on reaching the Munster Diamond Masters B Final on Friday night with a win over Limerick’s John-Joe Fahy in Tuamgraney, Clare. The final will be an all-Tipp affair with Eamonn facing his doubles partner Gerry Foley (Ballinahinch) on Friday, August 8th in Tuamgraney. Best of luck to Eamonn. Eamonn and Gerry will double up again to compete in the 60 x 30 Diamond B Doubles Munster Final on Friday, August 15th.

 

 

 

 

Tipp U16

 

 

 

 

Nenagh Éire Óg players Sarah Quigley, Grace O’Brien, Maeve Coffey and Hazel McAuliffe who were members of the Tipperary under-16 Camogie team which defeated Cork in an All-Ireland semi-final.

 

 

 

 

CAMOGIE

 

 

 

 

Under-10: The under-10 team are travelling to play in the Moira Cahill Camogie blitz in Dundrum, which is hosted by the Knockavilla-Donaskeigh Kickhams club, on August 16th. Management will be in contact with the details.

 

 

 

 

Under-15: On Wednesday last the under-15A team won the county Camogie league final with a terrific performance against Drom & Inch at The Ragg. Please click here for a match report.

 

 

 

 

Under-16: The under-16s will play Éire Óg Annacarty in MacDonagh Park, Nenagh on Tuesday.

 

 

 

 

Junior A: The junior A team open their championship campaign with an away trip to Templemore on Sunday, August 17th. Training continues as normal.

 

 

 

 

Tipperary: Congratulations to Sarah Quigley, Grace O’Brien, Maeve Coffey, Hazel McAuliffe and the Tipperary under-16 Camogie team which qualified for the All-Ireland final following a great win over Cork. They face Galway on August 24th and we hope a huge crowd from the club go to support them in the final.

 

 

 

 

Bag Packing: We are bag packing this weekend in Tesco. It is a vital fundraiser for the club and we appeal to all parents to please spare an hour to help us out. Please contact Denise Morris if you are in a position to do so.
