SENIOR

Senior: The Éire Óg senior hurlers return to action on Sunday, June 22nd when the Blues face Kildangan in the Hibernian Inn North Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship Quarter-Finals in Dolla at 7pm. Kildangan are the north Tipperary defending champions and are an outstanding team.

We appeal for your support on this occasion – your support means a lot to the players.

Minor: The Ger Gavin-sponsored North Tipperary Minor A Hurling Championship will get underway on Tuesday, June 24th when Nenagh Éire Óg face Toomevara in St Michael’s Park, Toomevara at 7.30pm.

Blues 10K Run: Well done to everyone who participated in and helped to organise the inaugural Blues 10K run which took place on Sunday, June 15th. A sincere thanks to race director Shane Connolly, safety officer Liam Quinn, marshals Gerry Robinson and Michael Geaney and registrar Anne Kennedy for ensuring that the event ran in such an efficient manner. Our thanks also goes out to the army of volunteers who surrendered their Sunday morning to help out. See you all next year!

CAMOGIE

Féile na nGael: The Féile na nGael is fixed for this Saturday in Kilkenny and it is an event we are really looking forward to after having a wonderful time in Killeedy, Limerick last year. The first game is on at 11am. Management will be in touch with players with details for the weekend.

Cumann na mBunscol: Best wishes to St Mary’s GNS who are contesting the county finals at both under-11 and under-13 level. The under-11s play their final against Boherlahan on Tuesday, June 17th at 4pm while the under-13s face the same opposition at 4.40pm on June 18th. Both games will take place in Semple Stadium, Thurles. Thanks again to all the teachers and the coaches in the school who so generously volunteer their free time to promote and coach camogie. Their hard work has been an enormous factor in the growth of Camogie in our town in recent years.

Bag Packing: We will be bag packing in Dunnes Stores on Friday, July 18th – this is a vital fundraiser for the club and if you are available for an hour please contact Denise Morris.

JUVENILE

Under-6 & Under-8: Our under-8 hurlers travelled to Dolla on Saturday for a blitz. A great morning's hurling was had by all and the lads were a credit to their club. Thanks to our hosts for a great day out.

Under-10: The under-10 team head to Tullamore on Sunday for a blitz.

Have a great day out boys!

Under-12: The under-12 boys had a great run out last weekend with the Group A team just losing out by a goal in a tight match against Kildangan. The Group D team travelled to Newport and recorded a good win. Both teams play Kilruane in Nenagh this weekend. Check nenagheireog.com for fixture updates.

Under-14: Our under-14s played a challenge game against JK Bracken’s on Wednesday night last. With Kilruane now participating in the A Grade we will now play our first round championship game a week earlier on Wednesday, July 18th in Cloughjordan at 6.30pm against the home team. On Saturday, June 21st we will travel to Mallow to participate in a Munster Féile tournament.

Under-16: Well done to our under-15 hurlers who came within a puck of a ball of reaching the semi-final of the Munster GAA Super-10s in Mallow on Saturday. They beat St Patrick's of Waterford 3-3 to 0-7, but lost out to play Aghabullogue of Cork 0-6 to 1-6 in a game that was drawn five times and that we led on three occasions. The goal came at the death and as a result Aghabullogue went on to play in the semi-finals.

The under-16 championship has been pushed out a week and will now start for us on July 7th. Challenges have been lined up for Sunday, June 22nd, Tuesday, June 24th and Saturday, June 28th.

Summer Camp: The Nenagh Éire Óg annual summer camp will take place from Monday, July 21st to Friday, July 25th for boys and girls aged between six and 14. Non-members are welcome!

The Blues 10K Run: Many thanks to the runners, walkers, stewards and everybody who contributed to making a success of the first Blues 10K Run and Family Walk. There was a great turnout with some stiff competition in the 10K race. Nenagh Triathlon Club’s Darren Dunne was the first home with Siobhán O’Doherty on his heels and claiming the prize for the first woman home. The 5K run was won by husband and wife pairing Ann and Dave Carroll with Ann claiming the bragging rights! The family walk added an extra dimension to the day and it was great to see all the kids enjoying the sunshine, treats and spotprizes. Well done to all and we will see you again next year.
