Under-6 & 8: Training continues indoors on Saturdays from 10-11am. Thank you to all the boys and parents for such a terrific turn-out so early in the season. Keep up the good work.

Under-10: Training resumes on Saturday mornings at 10.30am. The boys have a match coming up against St Joseph's Doora-Barefield of Clare on the morning of the Tipperary versus Clare league match so full attendance is expected at training.

Under-14: Our under-14 team is in full preparation for the Féile na nGael competition. So, again, full attendance is expected at training.

Mouth Guards: Mouth guards are compulsory for all football games and training sessions for teams and squads since January 1st 2014. Mouth guards are available in most sports shops and players will not be allowed to participate in games or training without one. For more information on mouth guards please refer to the GAA website www.gaa.ie.

Registration: Thank you to all who registered last week. Registration forms will be distributed this week to all outstanding players by team managements and registrar Ger McCarthy (087 653 9229) and should be returned immediately. For insurance purposes, unregistered players will not be allowed to compete in games which will all be commencing shortly.

Parents: Parents, please support the club’s fundraising drive and buy a ticket for the National Club Draw. They are priced at €10 each with super prizes and all money coming back to the club. There are a lot of costs involved in running a big club and your support is necessary to keep your children happy and hurling. Please contact any committee member for your ticket or text Shane Connolly on 087 637 3830.

It was a successful weekend for our juvenile handballers with two players through to Munster Finals. Sinéad Meagher will contest the girls’ under-15 singles final while Katie Morris is through to the girls’ under-13 singles final. Both matches will take place in Kerry next weekend. Best of luck to both players!

Hard luck to Eimear Meagher and her partner Eleanor Percy (Lahorna) who got through to the Munster semi-final of the girls’ under-14 doubles, but lost out after a great display.

CLUB HISTORY

As most of you are aware the club, under the expert guidance of PJ Maxwell, Nancy Murphy and Donal A Murphy, are putting the finishing touches to our club history book. This promises to be a comprehensive collection of the history of Gaelic games in our parish.

While the club have made every effort to collect photographs of teams from the present to the distant past and other pictures which would be of interest we appeal to people to get in touch if you have a photograph of interest in your possession.

Please do not assume that we already possess your photograph or that it is of no interest.

Every Éire Óg photo, whether it is of a team, presentation or action shot is of massive importance to us and we would be delighted to have it. We are also anxious to get photos of school teams from any of the schools in the community.

If you have a photograph please get in touch with us at eireognenagh@gmail.com

We promise to return the photo as soon as we have it scanned.
