Juvenile News

U11: We were invited by Toomevara to play in a lift and strike tournament last Saturday, other teams involved were Toomevara, Kildangan and Coolderry. The boys played well land enjoyed the morning.  Many thanks to Toomevara for the invitation and their hospitality.

U16: After a long year, we were defeated in the County Final last Saturday by Drom & Inch on a scoreline of 1-16 to 2-11 after a thrilling game. Having played against the wind in the 1ST half, we were in a good position trailing by 0-10 to 1-5 at half time. Drom started the 2nd half strongly and went up  4 points . We managed to get back to 1pt but despite attacking strongly to the end, we could not get the score to put us ahead.  Congrats to a fine Drom team on their win. Special mention must be made to Philip Hickey who broke his hand a few days previously and yet played a brilliant match through the pain barrier. Many thanks to Eamon O’Brien, John Manley, Michael Grey and Christy McLoughlin for their work with the lads. Many thanks also to Jim Kennedy and Noreen Ryan for their help throughout the year. It needs to be mentioned that official linesmen should be in place for games of this magnitude to ensure fairness for both teams and for the welfare of players, mentors and spectators.

All Ireland: Eire og Juvenile club congratulates Tipp minors on their fantastic win over Dublin last Sunday and especially to Barry Heffernan and Killian Gleeson.

Congrats: The juvenile club sends best wishes to one of our long serving team mentors Tommy Mulcahy and his wife Kathleen who celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary last Friday.

Camogie News

U8s are training on Wednesdays from 5:30 to 6:30. The girls had a great day at the last County blitz for this year over in the Ragg playing 3 matches. The girls have really improved over the year and we would like to thank all the trainers for putting in the effort every week with the girls. We will continue training for a few more weeks and it would be great if the girls could bring a friend to training. Again we must thank County Development Officer Pat Sheridan for his great work in organizing these Blitzes.

U10s are training on Mondays and Thursdays 5:30 to 6:30. There is another County Blitz coming up soon. Details will be given at training.

U12s. The U/12s are training on a Monday and Thursday Evening.  The u/12 go games blitzes were due to start last weekend but due to the continued success at u/13 and u/14 level the games have been pushed back. Details of matches will be given at training.

U14s. The U/14s are training on Mondays and Thursdays.  The u/14 A team had a convincing win against Toomevara in the County semi-final last Saturday on a score line of 5-8 to 0-4. This was a fine team display with a lot of the younger girls showing up really well. This team has already had an excellent year and now they go in search of their second County final of the year against Newport. Matches against Newport this year have been very tight so a big battle is expected and all support will be very helpful for the girls. Our u/13 team also has a County semi final coming up and we ask all the panels to keep up the good work in training for a few more weeks,

Minors: The U/18 championship is to continue this weekend with a match against Clonoulty. We ask girls to attend training during the week.

Junior B: Our Junior team had a great win over Portroe last Sunday. The girls played really well in the first half against the wind to go in 2pts ahead. They stepped it up in the 2nd half to run out winners 4-13 to 1-05.D Harrington(2), J Mulqueen and L Hickey got the goals. They are now in the County semi-final which should take place week ending 14th October. The panel also received their new gear and thanks to Denise Morris and Enda Costello for organising this. Framed pictures were also given to Mary Dillion, Captain of last year’s team as well as Ciara McGrath, Aileen Duggan and Alana Morris for their All Ireland success with Tipperary last year.

We are delighted to have received a cheque from the North Tipperary Sports Partnership for the work the Club is doing and also due to the amount of girls and Teams that the Club now has. This is a much needed boost to the Clubs finances and we thank North Tipperary Sports Partnership for this. Also to let parents know, we are having our flag day on the 20th-21st of October and we also hope to have bag packing on 8-9 November. All help will be needed on these dates.
