U21:Hard luck to our U21 hurlers who lost out to Toomevara on Sunday Morning. This ends our interest in teh u21 and the Club would like to thank players and management for all their work and effort this year.

Under 16: U16 hurlers had a very good workout with the Intermediate Camogie team last weekend. Winter  training has commenced on Wednesday nights at 6.45pm for all U16s. All players are asked to attend.

Camogie

Intermediate: Saturday last will be remembered fondly for many years to come as we passed another massive milestone in our history when we captured our very first intermediate county championship defeating Drom & Inch 2-14 to 2-8 and have now earned the right to play senior camogie in 2017. The camogie section was established in 2001 and in 2009 we fielded our first adult team and we entered the junior b championship in 2010. We suffered some huge defeats but we celebrated like an All Ireland when we defeated Moneygall in the championship that year, our very first adult championship win. We knew if we kept doing things correctly, working hard and promoting camogie we would eventually achieve our ultimate goal of becoming a senior club however we did not for one second think it would happen within six years. We have enjoyed a meteoric rise since then, capturing the junior b championship in 2013, junior a in 2015 and now, at the first time of asking, we have won the intermediate championship . We wish to thank the management team for all their hard work over the year and the panel for their dedication. We also wish to congratulate Rachel Maher, Ciara McGrath, Zoey Gratton, Aileen Duggan, Alanna Morris, Aislinn O Brien, Michelle Collins and Louise Hickey who now have won all three adult championship medals. Who would bet against them winning the senior? We are now due to face Waterford champions Gailltír in the Munster final, the details of this fixture have yet to be confirmed.

Minor: The county minor shield final against Éire Óg Annacarthy was postponed and will be played at a future date.

Thank You: We wish to thank our kind and generous sponsors from 2016 without who’s help we would not have reached our potential: (1) A Sportsman’s Dream – new set of jerseys, (2) Matheson Solicitors & Accountants (3) Hibernian Inn – Martin Morris (4) Red Electric Design – Gerard McCarthy (5) The 44 Bar – Michael Ryan. It was also great to see Michael Fogarty from Summerhill at the game. He is one of the clubs most loyal supporters and the girls were thrilled to see him there afterwards. He made a very generous donation to the team and it was very much appreciated and put to good use by the panel.
