Clarenbridge lead at the break by 2-4 to 0-4 and despite scoring twelve points in the second half we still lost by seven. We won our first match in these years Junior C Football Championship against Killererin in Tuam on Saturday evening last. We trailed at half time 0-6 to 0-4 with our scores coming from Ger Raftery 0-3, 0-1 from play and the other from Tom Forde from play. Killerean got a goal and a point from a free at the start of the second half and we were 6 points down and looked in trouble. But we scored 1-4 without reply in a purple patch to take the lead with ten minutes left. Damien Jordan scored the goal after some good work by Ronan Newell and Kenneth Leonard. We added three more points in the last ten minutes and were lucky to hold on to win by a single point. We will have to improve in order to progress in this year’s championship.
