There was one winner of our weekly lotto draw held in Cunniffes, Clonboo on Monday night last. Club member and player Patrick O’Brien from Slievefinn scooped the  4100.00 jackpot with the numbers 1, 9, 15 and 22. We had 6 match threes: Michael Forde Keernaun, Headford, Tom Forde Kilcahill, Regis Golding Bawnmore, D Walsh c/o Pat Creaven, Martin Farragher Bunatubber and Brian Fahy Cortoon. Eileen Regan won the Promoters prize. Next weeks draw will be held in Regans, Clonboo for a jackpot of  €2000.

The Juvenile monthly meeting is on next Tuesday Feb 7th at 8.30pm and on Thursday Feb 16th there will be an ‘Under-age Presentation night’ starting at 8.00pm both in the clubhouse.

The next monthly meeting of the adult club is on next Wednesday night Feb 8th at 8.30pm a large attendance is expected.

We play Cortoon-Shamrocks in the Senior League play off on Sunday Feb 19 with the winners playing the following Saturday in the ‘Final ‘

We had large attendance at our annual social last Saturday night a good time was had by all. A special thanks to our social committee for the work they did to make the night a success and to all who gave spot prizes.

The Development draw is now in full swing and all members and supporters are asked to support the venture, as funds raised will go to develop our third pitch

There is a meting tonight (Wednesday) in the Club House for all adult hurlers to plan for the year ahead and Membership is now due for all players and non-playing members contact Declan Regan.

Our website was temporarily down last week due to a lapse in our subscription to the company that hosts it. The website is now back up but everything may not be online. If anyone notices anything that is out of date or missing please notify us.

Indoor hurling continues every Saturday in Corrandulla hall. Indoor hurling is a very enjoyable activity which uses soft balls and special hurley’s with a plastic bas while the children all wear a helmet with a face
guard making it a very safe activity

  • There will be four sessions every week until April 8th with each session consisting of forty-five minutes action.
  • In order to aid supervision we are asking that parents of each family will make themselves available on ONE Saturday
  • Any parent that wants to help out on a weekly basis are more than welcome to do so. No experience in hurling is necessary, just loads of patience with the children.
  • Children are asked to have runners and tracksuit and to bring their own helmet if they have one. A limited supply of helmets will be available for loan on the day.
  • The cost will be €20 and this covers the juvenile membership of the GAA club for 2006. Membership forms can be downloaded from our website and will also be available on Saturday morning. Payment is due next Saturday.
  • The times are as follows Under 7’s at 10.00am, 8 year olds at 10.45am, 9 year olds at 11.30am and 10 year olds at 12.15pm.
