At Corofin on Sunday Annaghdown advanced to the Qualter Finals of the senior football championship by beating Claregalway on the score of 0-16 to 1-11.  We started well and had three points on the board by the fourth minute from Niall Coleman, Brendan Dooley and Frankie Burke with Frankie adding another on twenty minutes but Claregalway bagged a goal on twenty five minutes to add to there two earlier points to lead for the only time in the game, but Brendan Dooley and Frankie Burke had the two last points of the half to leave it all square at the break 0-6 to 1-3.
The second half began like the first as we scored five points without reply to lead by 0-11 to 1-3 after ten minutes with our points coming from Anthony Pender, Mathias Coleman, Damien Burke, Frankie Burke and Brendan Dooley. Claregalway opened there scoring on eleven minutes but Frankie Burke and Mathias Coleman and Morgan Duggan made it 0-14 to 1-4 mid way through the half. The losers shot the next four points to close the gap to three points but Damien and Frankie Burke had a point each to finish the scoring for the winners but Claregalway finished strong having the last two points but time ran out on them and we advanced to the next round with a two point win.

U14 Hurlers beat St. Columba’s and Castlegar in the league.  We play Ballindeeren tonight Wednesday 18th in Cregg at 7.00pm. 
 
U8 & U10 hurling training continues tonight at 6.30pm in Cregg.  We play Abbeyknockmoy in two challenge games at this grade on Saturday morning at 10.30am.  Last training before race next  Wednesday  July 25th at 6.30pm.  Our summer camp takes place from Tuesday August 7th to Friday August 10th in Cregg.  Camp starts at 10.00am each day and runs until 3.00pm.  Cost is €60 for the first child, €50 for the second child and €40 for subsequent child.  Each child receives a full set of O Neills socks, togs, jersey, back back and water bottle which are produced in the Ireland International Rules style.   More information can be got from http://www.vhiculcamps.gaa.
 
We had no jackpot winner in this week’s club lotto from numbers 10,11,15 & 25. Paddy Small Parke won the promoters prize and we had four match three; Cathriona Duggan, Bernie Walsh, Saoirse Stephens and Sharon Connolly. Nest week’s jackpot is €7450 and the draw will be in the Club House on Monday night. All lotto tickets to be returned to the pitch next Sunday morning.
