Camogie news

The weekend saw the start of the season for the Junior B team against a very experienced Newport/ Ballinahinch side in McDonagh park Nenagh on Saturday. The starting team for Nenagh Eire Og was made up of mostly last years u 16 team so they were very young and inexperienced especially against a team that won the league last year. Nenagh held Newport scoreless for the first 22 minutes with Alice Darcy Ciara McGrath and Danielle Harrington to the fore for Nenagh. Once Newport scored the floodgates opened for the next 10 minutes and they scored 4 goals. The second half Nenagh brought on some experienced players to augment the youth which resulted in a more even game with Nenjagh scoring 3 points and Newport only getting a further Goal and a point leaving the score line at Nenagh 0-3 Newport/ Ballinahinch 5-1. This year will be a testing year for this young squad but it should be a great adventure( especially for the mother and daughter on the team) and it should help bridge the gap between junior and senior where the club sees itself in the future. We would also like to thank the New members of the club that have just recently joined or rejoined to solidify this young club. We are also more than happy to facilitate any more people that want to join this exciting young club.  Training for the Junioe b team  is on Mondays from 6 to 7.15. Panel.  L McKenna C.
