* Following on from their success against Antrim in the Ulster Minor Hurling Championship Final, Down will take on Clare this weekend in the All-Ireland Quarter Final in Tullamore. Once again good luck to Rory and Pairic in their quest for All-Ireland glory.

* Down’s quest for an Ulster Senior Football Title was well and truly snuffed out by Donegal at the weekend. In a packed Clones the better team won on the day. Commiserations to Kevin Duffin, Aidan Burns and Margaret King. Down will now have to pick themselves up for this weekend’s 4th Round Qualifer when they will play Tipperary with an All-Ireland Quarter final place up for grabs. Good luck to Down again this weekend.

* There will be a Monster Bingo in the Club on Sunday 29 July at 3.00pm. The admission will be £5.00 with great cash prizes. So come along for what will be a great day out.

* The Charity and Fundraising night in the Club On Saturday night proved to be a fantastic evening. The auction on the night was for a bathroom makeover. Bidding went to and fro with members and friends trying out bid each other. In the end our club referee Gavin Corrigan flashed a couple of yellow cards and one straight red to ensure his bid won out on the night. There will be no appeals to CCCCs or DRAs and there were no cameras there to muddy the waters. The Club Hurlers and the Executive Committee wish to thank all who supported what was a fantastic night with great donations being made to the PIPS Charity. A special thanks to Ray Cunningham for all his hard work to make the night what it was.
