Borris in ossory G.A.A Notes Opening their league campaign this weekend the Junior team were off to a winning start against Castletown. Both teams traded points in the first half of the game before Gary Moore hit goal for Borris no long before half time leave the score on the break at Borris 1-6 Castletown 7pts. Although both teams fought hard in the second half Castletown only added four more points to their total score while Borris created nine points in the second half with scores from, Red Murray, Gary Moore, David Ryan and Colm Kavanagh. Tj Keenan and Michael Breen again giving great display’s for the winning team. The score at full time at 1-15 to 11pts in favor of Borris. The intermediates were also out in their 3rd round match of the league away against Camross on Friday afternoon last. Camross were quick of the mark and had a tally of four points before Enda Kelly scored for Borris, more points from Red Murray, Gary Moore and Martin Coss left the half time score at Borris 5pts Camross 2-8. Conditions in the second half didn’t help as Camross again added to their score before Borris answered with a goal and point. Full time score: Camross 2-13 Borris 1-6. Just a reminder that a Special General Meeting of the club will take place on Friday 18th of April in the clubrooms at O’Keeffe park. All members are requested to attend. Please note that any outstanding memberships that are overdue must be paid before this meeting. Also the Juvenile Committee are holding a fundraising Cabaret in aid of Feile na nGael 2008 (June 20th, 21st & 22nd ) in Rosie O’Grady’s on Saturday the 19th of April, Music by “The Black Knight’s”.
